forgiveness

I’ve made mistakes. Many. There are certain things in the past I would redo. Yet, back then, I just didn’t know. I didn’t have the awareness.

So when I reflect on my marriage, the divorce, my relationship with my son who suffered with addictions, and the deaths of my parents and two sons, I can see how I could have done certain things differently.

There was guilt and shame, loss and grief.

Then later, forgiveness. Forgiving me and forgiving my loved ones.

It’s not easy to forgive ourselves or others. It takes time, reflection, patience, and maybe rituals, maybe professional support, maybe healing practices.

It’s so so so worth learning to practice forgiveness!

Forgiving myself and others allowed the guilt and resentment to dissipate. It opened the door to feelings of lightness, freedom, and compassion.

How might you be working towards forgiveness?

With healing light and love,

Lisa
